Osaka JALT is proud to announce its annual Back to School 2013 mini-conference at Osaka Gakuin University on April 14, with call for presentations deadline March 14.
Back to School is our annual spring one-day mini-conference which aims to share ideas on a wide range of topics to help everyone start the new school year on a positive note. It's one of our favorite events of the year.
Date and Time:
Sunday, 14 April 2013 - 9:30am - 5:30pm
Speakers:
Yuko Nishiyama, Stephen Dalton, Jason Bartashius, and many more, including a unique workshop by OGU's own innovative I-Chat Lounge.
This year's plenary speaker, Ms. Yuko Nishiyama, will be talking about her experiences since evacuating from Fukushima after the disasters of 3/11/11.
As in the past two years, all proceeds from this event will go to help support Tohoku, this year via the Minna no Te organization. Photos, videos, presentation summaries, and other material from our past Back to School events can be found at http://bts.osakajalt.org/home .

Back to School is one of our annual one-day mini-conferences which aims to share ideas on a wide range of topics to help everyone start the new school year on a positive note. With long and short presentation slots, poster sessions, and plenty of time to socialize, especially at the dinner party afterwards at a nearby restaurant, there is sure to be something for everyone.
Presentations can be in English, Japanese, or any language you like. Teachers and students of all kinds are all very welcome and encouraged to submit proposals for any kind of presentation, including group presentations, workshops, round-table discussions, you name it. Space and time permitting, we'll do our best to fit you in.

Just as we've been doing at all of our events since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami last year, 100% of the proceeds from this event will be going to support relief efforts in Tohoku, so by participating you'll not only be learning, schmoozing, and getting ready for the new school year, you'll also be helping us make a difference for those that can definitely use and will greatly appreciate our assistance. Come help us keep helping those who so greatly need it and appreciate it in Tohoku!

Back to school 2011 Back to School Event

Admission: Students: 300 yen, JALT members: 500 yen, Non-members: 1000 yen
JALT’s Osaka Chapter, in collaboration with the Framework and Language Portfolio SIG and Task Based Learning SIG, is proud to sponsor our second annual Back to School event, to be held April 24 at Osaka Gakuin University.
At this mini-conference there will be presentations on a wide range of topics including theory and practice related to Task-Based Learning and the Common European Framework (CEFR), as well as presentations on pedagogical practices and topics of interest and practical application to classroom language teachers.
